I've made a decision. I am not afraid if I lose my life trying to right the wrongs now occurring. This does not mean I will intentionally act to ensure my death occurs, but if it should occur while legally exercising my constitutionally-protected rights and is caused by the reckless disregard of the gangsters and thugs, I am ready. I'm 62 very soon, I've lived a life under rules and laws that were followed and I want my children and grandchildren to have the same life.
A few things I've read lately from ordinary people. "I live in Texas in a town with a ton of illegals but there's no ICE presence here. I think they're going after Democrat states." Ya think? And you're just noticing it now?
From a rural area in MN "I support getting rid of the immigrants. All those Somalis are there in the cities illegally causing all that fraud, living on welfare." Ok, you sure? Only 9% are not citizens...yet. And what about all the freeloader farmers in your area who get annual bailouts and price supports and crop insurance, all financed by taxpayer dollars, so they can grow corn for ethanol and ship their crops overseas? They're not feeding America. Largest group of welfare recipients in the country. (And biggest whiners and complainers, too, I might add.)
If ICE were truly going after the worst of the worst, the hard-core criminals, then why are they finding these horrible people at their jobs? At schools? Yeah, sure, I believe that drug lord is doing Doordash on the side for a little extra cash. That member of Tren de Aragua is out gathering carts at Target. That murdering rapist is dropping his kid off at school before heading to another day of raping and murdering. And the fact that they're picking up humans from their jobs kind of dispels the narrative that they're grabbing the illegal 'freeloaders' living on welfare. These humans are working. The fact that ICE is shooting white moms and grabbing Native Americans in our streets tells me they're after everyone. No one is safe in the thug and gangster administration.
This is personal to me. My children are married to naturalized citizens (naturalized before marriage). My inlaws and my grandchildren don’t look like white America. Any of them could be grabbed at any moment simply because of how they look. Their citizenship could be stripped away simply because the thugs and gangsters have chosen to label them as bad. I shop in my grocery store and see the black and brown and Asian faces, and I feel guilty that I can walk around freely and they cannot.
And the song that just came on as I'm writing, Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell. It has brought me to tears:
** Title of book by Al Franken
