Very frustrating evening. I wanted to get more dirt, so my plan was eat dinner, swing by the grocery to pick up drink mix and then on to the free dirt pile. But the main road was closed for some reason. So I detoured only to get stuck in a 10-car back up at a 4-way stop where dimwits were taking turns one at a time clockwise and left turners were going first so the straight-aheads missed their opportunity to go. I got cursed at for doing the 4-way correctly. Whatever dimwits. Finally get to the dirt place only to see 4 vehicles backed in with people digging and another 5 waiting! Ugh. So I decided to go to the other site where the dirt is not as good but more people can park. I'm driving along making good time and then boom, with no warning the road is closed and no detour signs! Not knowing the area well enough I turned around and took a different route. Got my dirt, headed home only to hit MORE closed roads. Geez. By the time I got home, I'd been driving around and detouring for an hour! I only had time to get the dirt dumped in the raised bed before the black flies came out and I had to go in and shower. I feel like I got nothing done with all that driving and I have so much to do! The outlook for the next couple days is showers and thunderstorms, so I fear I won't get anything more done in the near future. Feeling pressured.
I've been awake since 4:30 and up since 5. Did a load of laundry (will THIS be the last time washing long underwear?) and washed the dishes. Sprayed stinky stuff on hostas, added more potting soil to pots. And now I have to go to work. I really need a day off. A life off.
The good news is I finally finished the annual review forms for the two employee reviews next week. I hate doing reviews because I have to rephrase from previous reviews. I should just copy/paste every year. But I was told since we have a wage freeze, to be especially complimentary. It's hard to do when I no longer like my job. Ugh.

There are crews here replacing all the power poles. For the last several days they have been right in town. I went down there to the hardware store for a garden hose and ended up driving all OVER town to avoid getting in their way. 🤣
Wow!
I hear you.
