Orioles and Ducklings

Finished listening to A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende. Loved it! It was one of those books that you just feel fulfilled and satisfied, like after a good meal with good company, you sit back and think Ahhh, that was a good evening.

Both a male and female Baltimore Oriole came by the feeders yesterday.

And as I predicted, we have mallard ducklings in the wetland. I just love how they shoot off super fast and travel about a foot, then shoot another foot. It's like they are propelled from a slingshot. When I got there, the adults were all in a tizzy. I'm not sure what was going on, it looked like two males were going after the female and these four ducklings were left unattended. She finally got to the taller grass to hide, and the 4 babes made their way to her.

I cursed myself by writing about how well I'd been sleeping. I slept like crap last night, waking at 3 and not falling back to sleep until 5...for an hour.

It is supposed to be rainy and gloomy today and Saturday.

And that's all I got, cuz my brain has shut down from all the other corrupt stuff going on in the country by the most corrupt president in 250 years.
