How'd honey's paperwork/medicare sign up go? Well, let's just say honey and I ended it by raising our voices at each other. In over a decade together, we've never raised our voices to each other, so that pretty much says it all. It. was. so. stressful. Honey hates putting any of his personal information out there on the internets and frankly, I agree with him. He had to take a picture of his driver's license and a selfie just to create a Social Security account which I imagine is new to this administration as I did not have to do that when I created an account a few years ago. We got him a SS account, saw his projected payout which, as I predicted, was more than double what I'll get since his high years were in California. He'll be bringing in more with pension and SS than if he works. If he retires. But he was totally unprepared for signing up for Medicare. He had three insurance cards from work and didn't know which was the current one. Didn't know when his insurance from work would end. Didn't have his employment dates. Just a bunch of stuff that added up to me becoming annoyed with him. So we moved on to the pension paperwork. Copied his birth certificate and divorce papers. And then we got to estimating the withholding and he insisted we go to irs.gov to estimate it. Which was a fucking nightmare and he was getting snotty with me because HIS password wasn't working and that was it. I was done. That was 2 hours of my life on the computer doing shit that had no benefit to me and that was two hours I will never get back. But he knew I was annoyed later and kept thanking me for all the help.
This is what was blooming in the woods/park on Friday:
Columbine
Honeysuckle - supposedly invasive so you can't buy it, but I think it is so pretty!
Celandine.
I could have slept in this morning but no! I get a 6am wake up text alerting me that the power was out...at honey's. His bill is still under my name. I'd really like him to take over his finances. But that will never happen because he INSISTS on writing a check and refuses to have automatic withdrawal. Sigh.
