Ended up getting a Lenovo Tab One for a hundred bucks to replace the 10+-yr old Samsung tab that can't handle the newest reading app updates. It's not the eReader I wanted, but it'll do.
Dog was feeling pretty rotten all morning yesterday. At one point he just stood in place for a full five minutes just staring at the wall:
Unfortunately he had another episode on the rug overnight. He only had water and chicken broth all day yesterday (and a little bit of liverwurst for his prozac) so I was surprised there was still anything in him. So at 5am I was cleaning the rug. Again.
Honey and I went to the copy store last evening to make a copy of his divorce decree for his pension. They weren't satisfied with the two pages he sent showing the divorce granted and he gets to keep 100% of his pension, they want the whole thing.
After that, we got started on installing the hitch on my car. Turned out 2 of the screw holes were rusty so we had to go to big box and get a tap to loosen the rust. He made progress, but ran out of daylight to do the second hole. So we'll finish that today. And by we, I mean he does the work and I sit there and hand him tools or fetch tools. As in, not much help.
This morning I read an article about Texas requiring Bible passages in its required readings in public schools. My first reaction was Christian Indoctrination!!! but my second reaction was hey, go ahead. And here's why. Ask any atheist if they had a religious upbringing, and many will tell you they attended a private religious school. I've lost count of the number of people I've met who went to Catholic school and no longer attend any church (me and honey included) choosing instead to follow the path of social justice and treating others kindly and with respect and not attaching a 'Christian' label to it. So hey, if you want to turn future adults away from Christianity, force religion on them in school as children. All right with me.
Finally heard from daughter about the 4th. They have plans in the evening with his family (of course) but they can 'stop by' my house. Whatever. I'll take what time I can get.
