I somehow managed to run into a wall face first. I was admiring the tulips on my table, walking forward but looking backward and just as I turned my head back around, wham! I hit the wall I thought I had passed. My left eyebrow bone to be exact. It hurt! I had to chose between frozen mushrooms or frozen diced green peppers since I couldn't find the ice pack or a bag of frozen peas anywhere. I went with green peppers. Fortunately, there was no swelling. Hopefully there will be no bruise as well.
Saw four swans in the morning yesterday
and they were still there in the evening, and I was able to get close to them. I wish there was a way to determine if these are the four siblings, or if it is two pair, or the two original pair. But they all look the same. I also saw what I believe was a bufflehead,
but I was too far away to get my phone camera to zoom in enough. But the distinct coloring matches a bufflehead more than anything else I can find. I'd really like to get better identifying smaller water birds where I'm not calling everything a duck. I only know mallards and wood ducks.
The county went through the park yesterday and marked a lot of trees to take down.
Obviously insect-infested when you see behind the bark the foresters cut away. I hate to see trees go, but understand.
Honey is going to bring my bike up this weekend and together we'll get it cleaned and tuned up. Then I'll see about replacing the seat and tires and go from there. See if I enjoy biking as much as I remember. I don’t want to splurge on an ebike only to have it be a passing fad, much like the covid canoe purchase. The canoe was nice for a couple years until it became too heavy for me to carry my end and honey kept insisting we didn't need a wheelie for it, and even after I showed him how bruised up my thigh got lugging that boat. The dread of lugging the canoe took away from the enjoyment of canoeing and now we have an unused canoe and trailer.
Temp was 50 when I woke and that will be the high as temps fall all day. It rained some this morning, and will be dreary all day. I'm happy for the rain though, because that first real rain of spring washes away the grime of winter.
Work will be super busy today and tomorrow as schools try to get everything in before they start spring break.
