Finished reading History of Wolves: A Novel by Emily Fridlund. I liked it until the last chapter. I reread the last chapter and then had to google an explanation because I didn't understand it. I don’t like abrupt endings--those books where it feels like the author is tired of writing the book and wants to wrap it up and it just ends with so many unfinished loose ends. The first time I ran into this was in the bestseller The Lovely Bones... I was so disappointed in the ending.
Reading the news this morning and once again I think, I am so grateful for those people who can think of those angles that might never have occurred to me. People who provide a larger picture when all the info is put together. It's not just the news, but in work and personal life as well. Honey is very good at providing on-the-spot analogies to explain something, for example. Or my teammate, whose thinking approach is entirely differently from how I approach things. When you put all these together, you're able to see a larger view and receive a better understanding. I feel sorry for people who limit themselves to one viewpoint.
There was a huge police presence nearby last night, roads closed, helicopter. For more than 2 hours, still happening when I went to bed. But do you think I coud find out anything?? I just don’t think it is right, that we can't know what is going on in our own neighborhood. The SP and RV PDs aren't on the scanners.I searched NextDoor and Facebook (as much as one can without being a member, which is a whole other can of worms I won't get into.) It was not until this morning that it appears it was a hit and run with injuries.
Today is cloudy and gloomy. I need to find a better place to get my weather info because I thought it was going to be sunny and 80. If I knew it was going to be yucky today, i would have biked yesterday. Grrr.
Texted honey Happy Birthday at 6am so I could be tge first and he replied right away which I wasn't expecting.

I too wonder about the weather forecasting... especially when they predict .22 inches of rain. 🤣 that's pretty specific! Who comes up with that number??
