Before I start my rant, I want to start with a big thank you to the county for sweeping the trail in the woods. It was covered with slimy leaves from the storm that was making the path slick.
Now, a rant on what not to do:
1. Do not trim an oak tree...in the summer...ever. Just don’t.
- Do not cut off branches to improve your view from across the street.
- And do a hack job of it.
3. Do not buy a house in a natural setting and destroy the natural setting. - Do not pile the branches from the tree trimming so that they hang into the public walkway so only one person can walk on the sidewalk.
I dislike these people who just moved in before I've even met them. These sorts of brainless people annoy the hell out of me. Identify a problem or worse, create a problem that didn't exist, and then remedy your problem by making it someone else's problem to deal with. Just like the landscaper that blew all the gravel and dirt from their driveway into the bike lane. Like the neighbor that blew all the leaves from the storm into the street. When did personal responsibility become a thing of the past? Lazy ass stupid people.
And no, I didn't sleep again. Thanks for asking.
Yesterday I invited two of my kids for an Independence Day gathering. Son and grandson will come. Crickets from daughter so far. It's the 250th birthday of the states of america, and I really feel like we need to celebrate it, especially now in this atmosphere where autocracy is threatening. Honey and I both remember the bicentennial events and what a big deal it was. Back then I decorated my bike for a parade (that was cancelled because of rain) but we neighborhood kids had our own parade. It doesnt seem like much of anything is occurring directly related to the 250th. At least not around here. Will my kids make it to the tricentennial? That would put them in their 80s. But maybe I can create a lasting memory for my grandkids to relay to future generations. Have their own bike parade. At the very least, we will have All-American picnic foods. Cornhole. If it's hot, the beach is 3 blocks away. I want it to be a memorable day.
