Thu Mar 05 2026 - Swans Are Back!!
Swans Are Back!!

I started this entry earlier this morning by writing that today is going to be a bad day. But then I took my walk and as I passed the wetland, the two resident Trumpeter Swans flew overhead and landed. My swan pair is back!!! I haven't seen them since early November. In the two years I've lived here, I've watched them raise a total of nine offspring. Watching them, seeing them and seeing the cygnets grow all summer, is my one piece of pure joy. I couldn't help but smile my biggest smile this morning as I walked down the street. The commuters must have thought I'd finally cracked up.

But yes, today is going to be tough. A team meeting is going to waste an hour of my day. Thirty, yes 30, quotes that I had carved out time from 4-5pm yesterday did not come back from the other department. I was so pissed! Because I already have that many to do today and now I will have to do 60 quotes plus all the phone calls and emails and changes and that team meeting. This year has not started off well.

Honey took both the aura quizzes. He asked me what color I thought his was and I said blue. Not because I'd read about any other colors other than my red aura, but because he radiates blue, I think blue when i think of him, as blue is a calming color. I was right!! He was kind of shocked. I do have that ability to sense people, like what their sign is and apparently their aura color. Anyway, I pulled up what blue meant and like red for me, blue was spot on for him. Isn't that interesting???

The snow continues to melt so that the only snow that remains are the piles from the plow/shoveling and on the north side of the houses, where the snow is shadowed by the houses. I noticed yesterday the deer came through and nibbled on the sedum now that it is exposed, so I sprayed the plants with the stinky spray.

I've been slowly working with the resistance bands I bought. I can see myself using these regularly and from what I read, it is as good as using weights, without all that bulkiness. I can do it watching TV too.

Well, I have too make myself presentable for the meeting, so off I go.

Do your swans have names? They are beautiful!

They are beautiful! And huge..the picture makes them look the size of geese but they are almist twice the size of geese. I don't have names for the swans, no. I guess it never even occurred to me to do so!

I name everything around here! I don't know why! 🤣

I know of people who do the same--naming cars, trees, etc, so you're not alone 🙂
