Even the worst day can be made better by six baby trumpeter swans:

I am eating a rainbow on my plate this week.
Took a bike ride last evening, finally, and despite the heat/humidity. Halfway through the ride, I just felt so happy. I really like riding a bike and I feel so fortunate to live so close to so many bike trails that allow me to do so and off the street. Somedays I just want to ride and ride and ride. And I appreciate the people who acknowledge my presence with a nod or a returned smile. Because most of the time I am invisible, a ghost moving through the smiling happy people.
Saw the 'precious' baby crow that the adults have been making my life miserable over for a week now. It is flying a bit. It sat there on a branch all nonchalant, preening, while its parent yelled at me. I got my binoculars out to see its fuzzy head to confirm it was the babe. At least it is flying now. Please fly away far far from here.
Thunderstorm came through at 3am. I would have slept through it if not for the app I have that sounds an alarm for severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings. For which I am grateful. Because for some reason, I dont get emergency/tornado warnings on my phone like honey does...even though we're on the same plan. But I was awake already anyhow and knew it was thundering, just didn't know it was severe. I got up to check on dog, who is usually huddled in some corner during a storm. But he was still asleep on his chair. What a difference prozac makes!
I am so worn down by life right now.

Woohoo on the family of swans! Congratulations from Janesville, Wisconsin reHarding the swan family. I remember a few years ago, walking past a pond to work one spring morning seeing a mother goose and another goose. The one goose throughthe I was going to close to the mother goose and squawked at me angrily because I was getting too close and flapped its wings, catching his wing on my face. The people inside the building saw this and were laughing at me as I was heading to the bus instead of yelling at the goose to leave me alone. No damage to my face, but I did make a good show and laugh for some people that afternoon after work. I laughed about it after getting away from the pond.
Geese are stubborn and mean! I give them a wide berth whenever I see one nearby.
What a joy to be able to watch those grow up! Swans are so BIG!
