Rant. And Some New Birds.

Okay, that's it. After what the Assahollah did to the citizens of the states of america, to the innocent people of Iran just living their lives, and to all NATO countries yesterday, well, there is no going back this time big guy. You blew it, whether you bombed or not, and there's no saying you were only kidding. You blew it, and we're taking our country back starting today. From now on, we spit in your face. Anyone who continues to support this lunatic after his performance yesterday deserves to be despised for all eternity and sent to join him in hell.

I'm going to break up this rant with some happy. This morning I saw a common loon for the first time in my life.

Three of them, actually. They are not regular in the southern part of the state, but are likely migrating through.

And I saw a hooded merganser which was more difficult to identify because it was diving, its 'hood' matted down.

And then in the park, I encountered a wild turkey that ran very quickly into the woods and would not wait for a picture.

And a stupid Canadian goose that hissed at me as I passed.

My fear and anxiety was through the roof yesterday obviously. I emailed my two Senators and Congressperson. (What a bunch of spineless cowards, all 535 of them. There isn't a patriot among them.) I anxiously watched the clock, the countdown in my head to doomsday. I imagined scenarios on what would happen next if he went through with it. Who would bomb us back, and where they would bomb. If the states use nuclear, then that opens the door to Russia and China and North Korea. The leader of your country IS NOT supposed to make you fear for your life, yet here he's done it again, right after the invasion in our state where we feared for our lives. I listened to Heather Cox Richardson last night right before the ceasefire and she pointed out that if the US was going to bomb, JD Vance would be hidden away in some bunker in the US, not in Hungary, campaigning for an authoritarian. That made me feel a little better. Fucking assholes. The Assahollah gets to be on my very short list of people I truly hate.

Doofus #1 and doofus #2. Look at the stupid expressions on their stupid faces. The two biggest idiots in the history of the world.

And then I talked to honey about it last night, after the "ceasefire" and he wasn't aware of any of what had transpired yesterday. When I gave him the rundown, he said "Oooh, that's what [coworker] was talking about." And went on to describe the conversation they'd had. Coworker had asked if honey thought the bombs would drop and honey responded no, because the Assahollah is manipulating the market to make money, so he does the outrageous things on Fridays when people aren't paying attention. I wish honey would pay more attention to current events. He still lives in a newspaper, evening news timeline of news.

I heard a news report yesterday that Minneapolis will designate parking lots for people who live in their cars where they can legally park. And I just think, how can it be that this is even a thing that is now normal/acceptable? That we readily accept that we have people living in cars, that we have given up because there are so many that we don't have the funds to house them, but hey, we will give you a parking lot to park in overnight. And I know we have always had unhoused people living in tents and park benches (and many more so when Reagan closed all the treatment hospitals and put them out on the street) many with addiction or mental health problems that can't be solved by providing housing alone. But I have to think the ones in cars have to have some source of income that they can keep the car moving? I know of people who have jobs but live in cars because they can't scrape enough together to pay rent and other obligations. Gas and food. Why is this?? They are working hard, isn't that what you're supposed to do to get rich (says rich people only, who inherited their wealth). It just eats at me how we have hardworking people who work for the rich living in cars while the rich own multiple houses and cars and throw away food without a second thought. It hurts my heart and my brain whenever I think about it and try to make sense of it.

Took dog to the vet yesterday. $500. And their new payment policy is no checks, 3% surcharge for credit cards, or a debit card. I have a card that I use once a year to get cash from an ATM. And so I found out yesterday that it is a debit card as well. Thank goodness. I hate vets. They're always trying to get you to have services the pets don't need, taking advantage of the bond between pet and owner. I don't really like this dog, so I'm not falling for any of their shit. Bare minimum for this dog.
