I'm hoping I have the knee pain figured out after reading about possible causes. From all my reading, poor seat height is almost always the source of front knee pain when biking. I think my bike seat is too low, which bent my knees too much at the top of the rotation which in turn put more pressure on the knee when pedaling down. I raised the seat an inch and took it on a test run to the post office to mail E's bday card (because it is exciting to receive mail when you're a kid), so the ride was only 3.5 miles total. What I did notice is that the shock absorber on the seat sinks in when I get riding, so even though the seat height may 'fit' when my feet are touching the ground and not as much weight on the seat, the seat is lower when I am actually on the seat. And I noticed my hamstrings were being used on the short test ride too, whereas before it was mainly the quads being worked. And honey confirmed last night that he thought my legs were too bent on the downpedal when we were on a ride a few weeks ago. I sure hope I found the solution. At least for that. The elbow is just overuse, and I don’t know how I'm supposed to not use my dominant arm. But man, is it sore after turning all those screws by hand and through plastic putting the water table together.
The water sensory table is for J's 2nd birthday. I figured they'd appreciate it ready to use. I left the toys in the bag though so they didn't think it was secondhand. I actually bought it used "Like New" on Amazon Resale. All the parts were there and in their sealed bags, but it looks like the original packaging box was missing. That's fine with me and I saved $15 which I put toward a cover for the table.
Dog was acting weird all day. He did not want to go outside, starting first thing in the morning and lasting the rest of the day. I don’t know if he smelled coyote or what. He was tailing me through the house more than usual too. And, he was also barking at nothing. Like all of a sudden he would run to the door barking like he does when someone comes to visit. He did it 3 times yesterday. I sure hope he slept it off and is less psycho today.
Today I meet with my team. I found out Friday that we're losing our admin to another dept, so the three of us will be absorbing her duties. I'll be going over what that involves, we'll be shifting territories because one member has significantly less cases than us other two and she has a lot of downtime from May-Aug which we need to resolve, two of us will need to learn how to download excels, and I'll explain that it was my idea to take on this extra load as a way to preserve our fulltime positions. Every department but ours has had layoffs, and my director has been questioning a lot lately about what everyone is working on.
We're under an extreme heat advisory for the week, with temps in the mid- to upper 90s and humidity for a feels like in the 90s. It was 76F when I got up at 6am. Yikes!
Saw the swans close up yesterday when I biked to the post office, but no phone on me. All six cygnets are still alive. Two are almost goose size, the rest are duck size. It's hard to believe how fast they grow! And I saw them again this morning, but further away.
Friendliness is contagious. I think everyone should catch it.

Those swans! It IS amazing how fast birds grow. I watched a nest of sparrows one year in a low bush in my yard and in about three weeks from hatching, they fledged. It was astounding!
