Finished listening to The Girls of Good Fortune by Kristina McMorris. Good book.
I decided to do some weeding in the front garden yesterday morning which morphed into trimming the lilac bush of branches that keep snagging my hair when I pass by with the mower, along with cutting out the mulberry and honeysuckle that had sprouted up inside the lilac. Hauled it all to the yard waste site.
After lunch I did a 9mi bike ride. Drove to Phalen to start and took the Vento trail north. It's not too bad of a trail--it's another of those old railroad trails-but it crossed a lot of streets that you have to slow down for, and then the trail just ends in a busy industrial/retail area.
Since it was a hot ride and I was soaked from sweat, I treated myself to some frozen CocoWhip with chocolate syrup when I got home. Nothing better than coconut and chocolate 😋
My DIL did not send me an invitation to my grandson's bday party. I don’t know if it was intentional or accidental. Since I hadn't heard anything about a party and with his birthday in two weeks, I asked my son yesterday if there was going to be a party and he texted me the invite. So I invited myself. I'm trying really hard not to take it personally, even though it has triggered all those feelings of being excluded as usual, and her calling me a debbie downer, and how easy it is for people to overlook me. Reinforces that 'I am invisible' narrative in my head.
Thunderstorm came through last night and I slept right through it, not realizing it had rained until I noticed this morning the rooster in the backyard had tipped over.
No walk this morning as I have a dr appt at 8:30 and I don’t want to be sweaty. I'll walk afterward. I really wanted to ride my bike there, but the streets are wet and it is already hot & humid.
Dog pooed twice yesterday and without me having to walk him. Yay!

I'm really trying to imagine having storms so often in the summer. We can go a solid 5 months in the spring and summer without a drop of rain. We have thunderstorms sometimes. But in the grand scheme of things, they are rare.
The weather has been a lot more active than usual here, we're kind of stuck in this unstable weather pattern unfortunately. It's great for our gardens though!
