Finished reading The Sleepwalker by Chris Bohjalian and it did not disappoint. I've yet to read a Bohjalian I didn't like.
I can't believe it is July already. Each day passes slowly but together, the days fly by quickly.
It seems dog has gone from one extreme to the other. He seemed more lethargic all day yesterday and didn't poo or pee when I took my break at 2:30 (it had been 7 hrs since he'd been out). He did eventually pee at 5pm, no poo though, so maybe that kaeopectate stuff has worked after all. And I did not wake to diarrhea this morning!! Hallelujah!! I heard him moving around at 4:30am this morning so I sprang out of bed to let him out. Still no poo. Not sure how to get him to take in more water to account for the added fiber. He's never been much of a water drinker. I'm still providing him several cups of bone broth throughout the day to keep him hydrated though. He drinks more of the broth than he ever did water. This morning I mixed in some of his regular food with the ground beef/rice mix. I stopped the kaopectate stuff as directed. (2-3 days max they said.) I still haven't received the full fecal test results.
He was laying in such an odd, uncomfortable position on his chair/throne yesterday, legs all scrunched up, that I had to take a pic:
The city came through and marked my lawn for a new tree, not far from the large healthy spruce tree. I don’t need a shade tree blocking the sun reaching the spruce! And I already planted a boulevard tree last year that is 3x the size of what they would plant. This small lot does not need 3 trees. I was kind of annoyed by it until I saw a post-it on my front door with a QR code to opt out. I opted out and provided the reasons above. Geez, I intentionally bought this house because of the sunny yard so I could grow flowers again! If I wanted to live in the dark gloomy shade, I'd buy a house in the dark gloomy shade. Been there, done that.
I kept getting kicked off the work VPN after 3pm yesterday. After spending an hour trying everything (rebooting my internet, rebooting my laptap, rebooting the remote computer, and using my phone as an internet hotspot) with no success, I emailed IT and just clocked out an hour early. It's slow.
My latest first world problem/obsession is how to prop up my tablet in bed while lying on my side so i can read before sleep. My old tablet was a lot smaller and lighter to hold. I tried propping the replacement on the nightstand, but the angle is wrong. I've explored pillows and beanbags and clip-on arm extensions and floor holders on Amazon. Nothing seems right. Last thing I need is something to bonk into at night if I have to spring out of bed (to let dog out for example). Like I said, first world problem.
Finalized my 4th menu. Hotdogs, chips, watermelon and blueberries, m&m cookie bars (with red/white/blue m&ms).
No walk today, mild thunderstorm this morning. Good thing I got dog out at 4:30.
This lack of sleep is killing me.
My neck is sooooo itchy!

glad the dog is now sorted (well, sort of, as you might be running into opposite problem now - how to help it to poo! lol) ...
have you seen this things? would they be any good? https://superherodiy.com/products/side-reading-stand-for-kindle-paperwhite?srsltid=AfmBOopy2PX4D95yNp28pvS7L6W4v0HYLOpCG3vPzN9A4KmJsBvzcdbf
the other option comes to mind - mount something similar onto tripod next to bed side ?
