It looks like the weather will cooperate for the rest of the weekend, all the snow staying further north. Light rain fell all day yesterday, maybe a half inch? 150 miles north it was all snow. Thank goodness for the urban heat island.
I'm going to try cereal for breakfast instead of yogurt with psyllium powder. As I explained to honey, I was only eating the yogurt to get the good bacteria reestablished after I was wiped clean of all bacteria after the hospitalization. I don't even like yogurt! Truthfully, I don't even like eating breakfast. Catalina Crunch with a half cup oat milk seems to have the same protein, calcium and calorie levels as yogurt. And it has a lot of fiber so I can stop the psyllium powder. But it will mean two kinds of non-dairy milk in my fridge, because the soy milk has too many calories to have more than once a day. So complicated! Thank goodness for the Cronometer app to track my diet. Plugging in foods and seeing the nutritional impact. Everything that goes in my mouth has to have a purpose, it can't be empty calories. Just like when I moved here to this much smaller house, any furniture I moved here had to have a purpose, like the gentleman's dresser repurposed as the entry storage/shoe seat or honey's everyday silverware repurposed as a coat rack, or the stool turned plant stand. Everything else that would just take up space with no purpose was donated. I'm a minimalist. I dont like extra stuff. I don't collect, I'm not sentimental about stuff. Too much stuff is stressful. Unlike honey, who clings to everything--as evidenced by the everyday silverware from his parent's home that was missing more pieces than what he had. Who lugs around crappy silverware for 30 years??? Or that old pickup he 'plans' to restore that he has had for 40 yrs and towed around the country with every move, never once even beginning to restore it. Or the equally old stinky mattress bought during his 20s from Montgomery Ward(!) that he refuses to get rid of. So ridiculous.
Anyway. I'm glad it is Friday. Last night, honey and I were talking about our childhood Easter weekend, days and hours of church, church, church. Holy Thursday mass, Good Friday service, Saturday night Easter Vigil, Sunday Easter mass. We always joke about having put in our time going to Catholic school, that we're exempt from having to attend church services anymore.
