Sunday

Ended up making asparagus soup for my dinners this week, which is something new to me. I added navy beans for protein, and nutritional yeast for umami and blended it all in the blender with oat milk for creaminess. Topped it with parmesan cheese. Turned out really well!

I got outside for a walk with dog because the sun was shining, but it was too chilly and windy for a bike ride unfortunately. Doesn't look like it's going to get above 50 at all this week. I want to ride my bike! In the meantime, I explore websites on St Paul's bike paths and designated bike lanes and plan adventures.

Dog is shedding right now, so I have to remember to give him a good brushing every couple of days. Because he is a mutt, different parts of his body shed at different times. His head and neck are a different breed from his ill-fitting body.

Attempted to remove the bathtub plug so I could clean the drain out, but I couldn't get the screw to budge. The drain is backing up, likely from my massive hair loss after the hospitalization, much as I tried to keep hair out. But I suspect it isn't just me, that it probably hasn't been cleaned out for decades before I moved in. I could go into the basement and remove the trap, but my fear is I wouldn't be able to get it back on tight enough. My wrist hurt just using the can opener yesterday so I can't imagine it would be pain free trying to crank on some pipe. Honey said he'd do it on Saturday.

For some reason, the insurance I had over a decade ago(!) was billed for the wrist splint, so it was denied by the insurer obviously. And the denial was sent to my old address. Not sure why they did that, as the doctor visit was billed to the correct insurer.

The Assahollah had quite the morning yesterday with his disgusting post and then a drive around town to see his golf course and the spot where he wants to add a monument honoring himself to the iconic monuments that define the city. Nowhere did I read about the church service he attended. Um, because the good christian didn't attend a church service. How some believe he is the second jesus is unbelievable!! The only thing he'd do that jesus did is flip the merchants' tables in the temple....because they weren't selling HIS merchandise. I truly believe the car ride was to settle him down, his handlers knowing how out of control he was yesterday morning and knowing taking him out to see his 'stuff' would calm him. I will never forgive those who voted him into office this term. Never.

And can I just say, the boomers need to get a grip and recognize it's way past time to move on. They have screwed Gen X any way they can, they've taken everything for themselves from social security to leadership positions they won't step down from, and in their wake they've left only crumbs for future generations to scrabble for. I blame the selfish me generation of boomers for the predicament we now find ourselves. I still laugh when my son accused me of being a boomer. As if. I'm stuck in between two generations and don't relate with either. Same as him stuck between millennial and Gen Z.

I've been hearing Sandhill cranes nearby in the morning but I don't know where they are. Such magnificent birds!
