and the spacebar button on my home keyboard are not working, hence the abrupt ending of yesterday's entry. i can't log into deardiary from home. if anyone has any ideas on this...i could sure use the help or better yet, i just may bring franny's diary back... it's difficult to kill bananafish you know. you need a small hole and tons of bananas.

ah, back to work. i still could use a nice pint. that would do the trick. it's been a long time since i've gotten smashed. notice how i'm mentioning work and alcoholic beverages in the same sentence. i'm legal you know. and i've got valid ID. ;-) can anybody tell me if they sell Guinness in liquor stores???

watched NOVA last night. they had the story of MER's Spirit (which is currently on Mars and sending back awesome photos), and Opportunity (which lands later this month). i wish i had a better brain, it'd be really cool to work for the space program. i've always loved the nightsky, the possibility of discovering new life, the awesome beauty of planets and stars. Sun Ra was right, space IS the place.

i'm cold and hungry. must go food shopping today. must go running today. must try to purchase new sneakers. my knees are beginning to bother me. here's hoping Modell's is having a sale this weekend. the real key to comfortable running is investing in a really great pair of socks. socks that will keep your feet dry and fit great so that they don't bunch at the toes or heel. it really makes such a difference. i may also have to get some sort of reflective tape to put on my fleece pullover for when i run. by the time i get out of work, change into running gear, stretch a little, feed the 2 plump beings in catsuits, it's on it's way to being dark outside. i don't make good roadkill. i'm positive the last words from my mouth would be *&^%$(% IDIOT!

So, tell me ... where does one go to find socks that fit? I've just about given up. This "one size fits most" approach to the sock kingdom simply doesn't work for me. And, irony of ironies, the one brand I have found that actually fits me has to be worn inside out because they make toe seams the diameter of pencils, and they cut into my toes.

Bannanafish on the horizon? THAT would be an awesome site.

As for the keyboard problem - it sounds like it just needs a good cleaning. You can try popping the keys off and then going in there with one of those air-blowers they sell in office supply stores or with a vacuum cleaner.

If that still doesn't work, let me know. I happen to have a spare keyboard hanging around the house that I don't use and probably never will again. I'm sure a deal can be made.

I could even be talked into throwing a Guinness in to sweeten the pot.
