not sure if i will do this, but i am contemplating running an 8K that'll take place a few weeks from now. it's really short notice and doesn't give me much time to train. i'll have to build-up miles quickly and work on speed/time. i ran a 10K a few years ago and i really don't remember training for more than 2 weeks, but then again, i was going to the gym everyday (even weekends) and running just about every other day. we'll see how the training goes this week. i'll be starting with 2 mile runs. i enjoyed running that race though. i finished pretty strong and really didn't dwell on how long it took or what number i placed, there were at least 1000 runners. i think i'm about due for a mental and physical test. we'll see. i will begin training today though. have to really try to get my taste back for water...i'm constantly dehydrated. bad for the kidneys. bad overall. so...
this past weekend i received notice that my jury duty was postponed! thank god. i don't mind serving, it's just bad timing since i have a trip planned. they plan on nabbing me some time in 2004. fine by me.
a beautiful (despite the gray) morning. i walked to work. the trees are really colorful, i wish i would have brought the camera!!!
picked up and carried to the side of the road, another raccoon that had been hit by a car.
1. i've had my rabies shots (a requirement for when i did my stint at the vet hospital)
2. i did use a plastic bag to pick it up.
3. unfortunately the downside of walking everywhere is that i get a great view at all of the dead animals that have gotten runover on the roads. this truly sucks. that raccoon was pretty large and i can't imagine having to pass it every morning and evening to and from my apartment, especially when it keeps getting run over until it looks like a lump of fur and raw meat. some drivers never think about how they leave little tragedies allover the place. or how the "crazy people" come out when noone is around and move these poor creatures out of view.
take care people, we're all just trying to live.
