klutz pills and dog love.
so far i've managed to:
-get toner on my hands
-dirt on my cream colored skirt
-squirt myself peeling a grapefruit
-spill vanilla yogurt on myself
-and trip over my own feet walking up the stairs (these sandals need front end repair)

what the?!
~~~~~~~~~~
i need a nap.
seriously.
and i've just realized that summer is almost over. that sucks. this morning was absolutely gorgeous. went for a short run and the sky was a clean blue with light fluffy clouds. the sunrise was sweet. it was nice and cool. perfect running weather. not quite sure why more people don't run in the morning. the air seems cleaner, there's less traffic and it's almost always cooler.
this morning i spied the neighbors kitty looking out the the window. what a cutie. spoke with my sister on monday. i'm in need of some dog love. the household situation she is currently in has 5 dogs and 2 cats. there were 3 cats, but Ms. L went missing. i try not to think about that. i still hold out hope someone found that sweetheart and took her in. anyhow, 3 big dogs, one medium size dog, and a smaller doggie. anyhow, the last time i visited, i had a great time with the dogs. these folk are literature lovers...most of the animals are named after writers. (lord, i need to change this light music station, one can only take so much of Cher!)
anyhow, i'm in need of some dog time. these dogs are pretty awesome despite the rough beginnings most of them had. these are dogs rescued from streets of the south bronx, one was abandoned in the woods and was emaciated when he was found and gently coaxed into coming closer (his nick name is lightbulb head...) another was found at a very young age (weeks old) and was nursed. last time i visited, the little stuffed pony i gave him when he was a baby was high atop the curtain rod. he used to sleep with it.) one of the cats (who thinks he's one of the dogs) was also found in the south bronx. this one slept on my knees when i spent the night. he always has a dirty head which is kind of endearing. all the animals have free access to the great outdoors. but they all come in for the night.
there is something about hearing the clinking of dog tags dangling from their collars. there's something in the way their hindlegs step daintily on the sidewalk. black lips smiling, pink noses that are slightly moist. ear periscopes intently listening, black-eye lined german shepherd, fancy mole with a lone black hair. pink ham steak of tongue, happy little flag tail waving. kiss the soft hair part of your forehead. expert furry buddies, sometimes amusing, always comforting.
