i took a plane ride for thanksgiving. walked down michigan ave with the masses, went high atop the hancock observatory for a wonderful bird's eyeview. saw twinkling lights and sparkly trees, passed stands offering hot cider, and roast pork loin. watched the toy choo-choo chug through glitter lights and tinsel, ducked into the cathedral with gorgeous vaulted ceiling and a grand rose window, said a little prayer, got up and left.

the sears tower wore red and green, horse drawn carriages trimmed with garland and taxi cabs with checkered designs. we zoomed down the avenue, we threw ourselves in the mix. of people and more people bundled up but losing the battle against this city with its cold and windy...
