spring. you're busy smiling at cherry blossom petals riding the soft lunchtime breeze. surprise kisses go well with chocolate and oranges. you're showing your age sneaking 'round the building with a good book and a full belly, parking yourself on bugfree concrete.

no thinking about short skirts or supple thighs, dimpled chins, or strong forearms. it's all become a chore. you're more enchanted with laughing dogs running, their ears dangling silly bounces all the way. you know their secret handshake, envy their careless happy-go-round.

you're becoming that early middle-aged lady that wears funky sneakers and walks everywhere. still rock'n rolls, but knows how to quiet down. you're getting past limbo. out of the early thirties sandtrap. sometimes this sucks, sometimes is just fine.

Pity the fool. You deserve better than fools and origami specialists, who delight in folding one thing to make another, never mind the creases and bends. I keep hoping you'll find a reader, who knows that paper is best for books and reads every single word of you, still wanting more.
