bite them in the ass. i have to wonder what all the current mayor's supporters (some militant enough to hand out broken arms and punches at the polls) think about the cover headline on one of the local newspapers. a day after he was re-elected, the mayor filters down a memo asking that costs be cut on spending for the "safe streets" campaign, (the same campaign he toted as a victory against drug buying/selling/using that plagues many neighborhoods in philly). the same one he used in commercials to win voters. add to that the "rumor" that 2500 city jobs will be cut. nevermind the FBI probes regarding no-bid city contracts... as mom always says, "now the teeth and nails come out".

it's no wonder young educated professionals are leaving in droves.

yesterday was spent taking ms. calico to see the vet. (a production i tell ya! complete with vomiting, salivating, pooping and peeing in the carrier on the way there) i carry a roll of paper towels and plastic bags in my bag.
too many trips to the litterbox, one tissue under her butt that turned up bloody urine and i decided to call in. i just can't leave to go to work knowing that my kitty is probably in pain and/or sick. so, i tried getting a free catch sample of her urine, not freakin' easy to do from a hefty little kitty. she squats low.
i got a few drops in an old pill container, but most of it ended up on my hands.
so, they suggested i leave her for the day.

came back home, went to sleep, and a phone call from the doc woke me up. apparently they found glucose in her urine so they wanted to do a urine culture, they checked her blood sugar and they also did a U/A. the doc did say that when kitties are stressed, glucose may show up in the urine.

the dx? interstitial cystitis. she's on metacam (nsaid primarily used in dogs but that works well in cats.)
she's due back in 10 days for a recheck.

1 heart problem kitty
1 urinary tract problem kitty

i swear i have 2 old men disguised as my pets.

Good thing they have servants like us to care for them. They'd never make it in the 'real world'!

Poor kitty! My Daisy has been mostly healthy and we have had few (if any) health problems. You are so good to take care of you kitty so well. Too many people do not care for their pets.

they're my buds. ms. calico got a nice cat bath last night, her carrier cleaned out, and her meds. (she's a land shark! when it comes to meds)
but she's a real sweetie most of the time. a well behaved kitty, unlike my orangehead.

knock on wood baXter!!! ;-)

Are you surprised at the corruption?

To find it here.... *shrugs shoulders*

To find it in the state of brotherhood......

*hangs head in shame*

doesn't sound like there are any kin folk to the miners or the steelworkers left there.

it's the same freakin' mentality of that reverend, or whatever the hell he is, defending that couple who starved those boys they adopted.

i mean, are people that f*cken stupid to think that these kids have an "eating disorder"? funny how this disorder has no affect on them now that they are being fed.

i wonder if we can have a mayor recall...
