the devo commercial...now there's a freakin' winner. the use of devo's Whip It horders on the absurd and that's probably why i thought it was hilarious. i'll never be able to look at a swiffer in quite the same way...what'll pop into my head will be the housewife doing her robot moves...
i read an online excerpt of Iain Levison's A Working Stiff's Manifesto... i laughed out loud. funny!! needless to say, with the way i'm feeling these days about my own employment situation, i need a good laugh.
just finished reading Neil Gaiman and Ken Prachett's Good Omens. pretty good and easy reading. i've been reading the Left Behind series, waiting for book 11 or 12 to come out... Good Omens deals with the coming of the antichrist and how abookstore owning angel and a black bentley driving, Queen listening demon kind of throw a few monkey wrenches into the mix that screws up how the antichrist is raised as a child. even his hell-hound protector, which should have been a nasty-ass rottweiler, is instead some scrappy little mutt that cats beat up on. all in all, it was a good read with some funny plays on The Omen...
recently checked out:
The Art of Happiness at Work by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler, M.D. (it's either this or take up drinking)
Middlemarch (3 freakin' videos) 3rd time's a charm... i either end up falling asleep or taking a nap.
currently listening to: what the hell else? radiohead's amnesiac.
lunch was low-fat cottage cheese and white seedless grapes! YEAH!
i broke down this morning and actually bought a sugared donut from dunkin'donuts
YEAH! YEAH! i normally don't buy donuts or eat them. i really should have bought a powdered donut...to get that mouth coated lip smacking effect going.
~~~~~~~~~~~
wish list...
-a really good telescope so that i can play junior astronomer and check out Mars
-i hate to say it but, a dvd player so that i can check out the great dvds at my local library. they buy the dvd, but don't buy the video...this is why technology sucks. as soon as you catch up, it leaves you in the dust again.
-a ticket for the mosh pit in madison square garden to catch the last Radiohead show in the USA.
-a great new job, that i'll love and in which i'll do meaningful work and that is environmentally friendly.
-that somehow, someway Peace spreads its feathers over lands and people that need it.
