looks like we're in store for great weekend weather. warm and sunny. fine by me. i'll be doing some last minute things to get my butt in gear for the great race. and then next week...is triptime. ;-)

the world is a roller coaster. i found myself teary eyed at the mass hysteria playing out while watching the footage of the aftermath of the suicide bombings in Istanbul and about 30 minutes later, dancing and bobbing to that silly-ass OutKast song (Hey Ya) while making dinner.
what is going on here? how numb do you have to make yourself to be able to get up in the morning and go to work, school, where-ever? the more i watch tv, the more absurd it gets. and how can a newsperson report horrible news and end with a smile? do they realize they're doing this?
we want to see tragedy on tv and then be able to ignore it exists. perhaps that is why reality shows are so popular. it feeds the little sadists in all of us. we've all been flattened in our personal lives and it's great to see someone else cry or get fooled or whatever. i can't watch them.

i think the best that we can do to honor humanity is live well.
share
be nice
clean up after yourself
don't waste
*sometimes i just don't realize how lucky and fortunate i am to have what i have and to live where i live...must remember, must remember, must remember.

Joan of Arcadia...i had great hopes for this show and i'm glad it's doing well. it's thoughtful but not preachy. the best thing about it is Joan is a real teenager. she's not some ultra-thin blonde bombshell. she's a little odd and nerdy. her beauty just shines from the inside. a great cast, a great show and a great choice for the lead character. i hope the show has a good long run.

friday friday friday. i bet i know someone out there who is particularly overjoyed that today is friday. ;-)

I just finished checking the Gecko's. I think I see two eggs forming in Liz again.
That is my reason to be happy today =)
