this summer has been a little bit of a waste. i guess maybe i'm just used to taking a class or doing something in addition to working fulltime. i have yet to get my driver's permit. i have yet to sign up for driving lessons. if i'm going to do it, i need to stop watching the news. tired of watching news stories about wrecks and seeing mangled metal and sheets on the ground. i know there are responsible drivers out there. but as a pedestrian i see many that arent: i see many drivers yapping on the phone, balancing cups of coffee in one hand, or facing and talking to the person in the passenger's seat.
i'll have to move to a totally sparse neighborhood or get up and out of the house by 5:30am to avoid the mass morning rush...
the neighbor that lives down the hall from me has a friend that insists on honking her horn non-stop for 2-3 minutes. then she proceeds to get out of her car (blocking the driveway and leaving her infant in the child seat) to buzz the guy's apartment. she gets back in the car and the honking begins again. this has happened 2 times now.
so in addition to the noise that the "gang" that has taken to hanging out in front of the apartment building generates, and the general noise of non-stop traffic (i live on a busy road with no lights, just ignored stop-signs) i now have to listen to this idiot beeping her horn. homicidal thoughts...
and then i remembered a site my buddy sent me called honku (honku.org) based on a book of haiku's inspired by honking rage. instead of getting pissed off, the author began writing haikus to help alleviate the anger that rose out of him due to living near a street where drivers constantly honk their horns, some for no apparent reason.
my honku for the idiot yesterday:
hey you fat lady
leaning heavy on the horn
are your legs broken?
yes i feel better. if it happens again, i will ask my neighbor, in a nice way, to please ask his friend not to honk her horn but to buzz his apartment instead.
fat chance it'll work, but i guess anything is worth a try.

got a call from my brother. he's sending me a digital camera. not really sure what i'll do with it. i certainly don't need it. and i sure as heck don't have a clue how to post pics in my diary... i guess it would be kind of cool to post pics of my cats and plants and dust-layered books. it would have been great to have when the cherry blossoms were in full force. i received the package slip yesterday, so instead of going to the gym after work, i'll head to the post office and go pick it up. i'll have to go for a long run this evening. i'm up to 150 crunches a day. 3 sets of 50.
need to set up my mammogram appointment. one place i called...that would have been convenient to get to...their number was disconnected. (that can't be good)
somehow, i feel like i'll have to head to a rotten part of the city to get this done. not looking forward to the boob smash. i thought the first one should be scheduled for age 40????????? ah well. let me get on the horn and set something up...
ciao&meow.

If you have other space to store pictures in on the web, drop me an email and I'll tell you how to post pictures from there. It really is pretty easy, once you do one or two of them.
I want to see kitty pictures.
