it's a phenomenon that i still don't quite get. it's strickly a philly thing though. and this year, after much bruhaha regarding the marching route, they are back on Broad street. this year, i'm recharging the battery to my digital camera and bringing 2 blank diskettes so that i can get lots of photos. the Mummer's parade will be broadcast on tv, but there is nothing like actually being there and watching this parade of brilliant color and imagination complete with full make-up/face paint and the required beer truck following closely behind. men, women, children, and old folk will come out to strut in their finest costumes. and this year i hope to get some nice pics. i'll be organized this year. i'm downloading the parade route and heading into town early.

who knows...perhaps i'll even throw myself in the mix...
