Please forgive me for being gone a little longer than I planned. I was planning on coming back on the 1st, but it did not work that way for me, but I am back today. Not a lot has been going on except watching the new Charmed as I watched the one starring Holly Marie Combs, Milano, and Shannon Doherty, and Rose McGowan. I’ve seen all their episodes, but not the one that was on for 4 seasons starting 2018 I believe. The one with Harry being their white lighter. I am now watching the 4th episode of the 2nd season. I like it so far, but I did not watch a couple of episodes because of what happened to the animals. Even though it’s a TV show and nothing really happens to the animals, but I hate to watch an animal like a dog or cat get killed in a tv show. I have two fur babies—-cats——Magic who is going to be 5 and Millie will be 3. I’ve painfully said goodbye to two cats — Emilee who lived 16 1/2 years and Bing lived for 15 years. Putting them asleep was a kind gesture because they were sick and I still miss them. Magic and Millie are wonderful fur babies, no doubt, and I got Magic a sister a couple of years ago. When Millie came into my life, my caregivers Jackie and Debbie spent a couple of hours looking for a sister for Magic and having both of them has been a great joy. Magic isn’t home alone now with Millie here. He has his moments with Millie, but they get along most of the time, and Millie can defend for herself very well. I don’t worry when I spend 2 1/2 to 3 hours at dialysis 3x a week until my caregivers will take the time to learn how to do dialysis at home, I do have a machine at home, but I was hospitalized in December to have my catheter replaced. I am on my ninth catheter now because I do not have anymore access points to a fistula or graft in my arms. The graft worked for 9 months and the fistula never frustrated. After my graft quit working, I went back to the catheter. I was fortunate that my Grady worked for 9 months and had a break from the catheter for a while. Dr. Andrum told me that sometimes fistulas and grafts don’t work in some patients so the catheter is the only means of dialysis for some patients.
When it comes to dialysis, I take it very seriously and go three times a week at the clinic . Even though I left Mercy Dialysis to go to Fresenius dialysis because I plan doing dialysis at home, and Mercy Dialysis does not allow patients to have dialysis in the same. Dr. Andrum understood why I left him to go to Fresenius. I saw him in December when I had my catheter replaced as I was in the hospital for 8 days at that time. I miss Dr. A but I really don’t miss Mercy West Clinic because the girls there were a little too nosy about some things with me. What they were doing was driving me crazy and they got me so upset that never stopped. I had to leave and yet, I did not like leaving Sam and Tiffany the tech behind. I am sad about that. They were my favorite team!
As far as everyone else doing dialysis, some patients do not come or go 3x a week, and Mercy Dialysis, I saw many patients only come one day a week or two days. Ummm, I find it unexceptionable and not appropriate, but some patients do not want to be serious about dialysis. I’ve missed dialysis a couple of times one winter because of weather conditions were bad, and my caregiver at that time—Dawn—couldn’t get out and over. My caregivers Jackie and Debbie make sure I get to dialysis 3x a week one way or another now. If it is real bad out, they will consider me to stay home then. I hate miss treatment to be very honest with you and myself! I don’t mind going. Anyway, my caregivers will be learning how to do it at home sometime this month. They want a refresher course on how to get through dialysi, anyway. I don’t blame them.
I am glad to be back, too. I needed this break, though. It was worth it. So, please forgive me for being gone for so long, though. Thanks for understanding, too. It was necessary. I will try to be back tomorrow.
