Happy Again!

Ever since I left MercyHealth Dialysis to go to Fresenius Kidney Care Clinic, I do have to admit that I have noticed a change in my attitude — I am happy again and I know I have been saying so a lot lately. Please forgive me for repeating myself lately. I ❤️ love myself all the way now. As my attitude continues to change for the better, I am making changes physically and mentally better, too. The ‘old’ Kristi is back. She is done fighting with her old self with the new self. What am I talking about my old and new self? Umm, I’m done comparing myself from what I could do in my 20s, 30s, and 40s, before and after using a cane in my late 30s and a walker in my 40s, and how I get around now in my mid-fifties today. Although I no longer worry the distances I walk to and from places in my apartment, my use a power chair to get around out in the public outside my apartment that is my home and my fur baby cats named Magic and Millie. They have a  journal at my Dear Diary, too, lol.

My Day Today

.I will NOT argue on how my day has gone today. It was a very good day all day long. I did not do too much today, though. I just had a day of watching Murder, She Wrote, read Nancy Drew until I was finished with it and started a new Nancy Drew book, worked on my journaling, and visited with my fur babies during my meal times and watched the cats nap whine either being on the bed with me or on the cat tree that has seen better days from day one to two years later, 👌😏… It has been a good day.

Deb H came by at 9 am, got me into the bathroom, comfy clothing for the day and night, got me breakfast and lunch, and left for a while. She came back after 2 pm and got my supper warmed up, a couple of snacks, and fresh water and ice cubes then left again for the day.

My Caregiver Schedule

I have two caregivers. They are Jackie (main) and Deb H. (secondary), and Julie M (backup). I rarely see Julie M, but I let her know when she’s needed or I text her. She is a trusted friend of mine I met through another friend of ours who was Nellie S at the time a few years before NS passed away. Jackie works everyday, but she has Sunday and Monday off when Deb H has Wednesday and Saturday off. Every now and then, like this week, Deb worked today and will have Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off because her son leaves for his first semester in college after graduating from high school in June 2025. She needs a couple of days and her normal Saturday to get her son ready to leave the nest. Jackie works when Deb does not work and when Jackie is off and needs a day off, Deb works those days!
