Although I had only one appointment today, I do have to admit that I was a bit more alert today. These dialysis sessions for training have been enlightening and fun to learn about. I can’t believe I have gotten this far in life since doing dialysis again for the past six years. I thought that MercyHealth Dialysis Center could do no wrong until last year in 2024 when it began to deteriorate. I have made some valid complaints about dialysis and nothing ever came from it that was taken care of or was just poo pooed and swept under the rug. Being trained for using a dialysis machine at home has been wonderful even though we are just getting into it now. My session today went smoothly and the 3 hours went by fast today. It pays to have conversation about dialysis with the people who are going to be dialyzing me at home by 2026! I know I’m excited as well as nervous because I haven’t had dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, since October 1987–March 1988 now. Now they can do hemodialysis in the home, too? Yep! Wow! Enough said about dialysis TODAY, LOL! It was a very good session today, Now, I don’t have to go to another training session until Thursday due to the fact I have another appointment tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM at SSM Health. UGH! Oh well…

With treatment done for the day, I am now home, ready to eat my Taco Bell meal of the day. My lunch and supper, and my time to relax and get comfortable. I’m no longer bedridden these days, but prefer to lay in bed for comfort and relax whenever I can after treatment. Even at age 55 I prefer a time to relax these days! I don’t mind sitting around at home. On occasion will I have a time I want to get out of my apartment to go out every once in a while. I don’t mind sitting around to watch TV, work on my journaling, read, and snuggle with my fur babies. I don’t always like to go be a chatty Cathy downstairs in the lobby or community room. I don’t mind being in my apartment on this side of the door alone for the day when my caregivers are not here yet. I LOVE my free time alone.
