My weekend has begun the moment I rolled on out in my power chair out of the Fresenius Kidney Care Clinic for what I call ‘my dialysis weekend’. I got out the door at 3:28 pm and in my medical ride home WNM where I met my caregiver in the lobby of Garden Court a few minutes before 4pm. It doesn’t feel strange driving into a clinic lobby to wait for your turn on a machine that helps clean your blood for three hours that I am ok with to have an effect cleaning of the blood. I find Fresenius Kidney Care Clinic busy saving lives with patients who have kidney disease in such a way that is far different than MercyHealth. Comparing MercyHealth with SSM Health Is not a hard thing to do because each place is different in taking care of patients. I feel so much happier at Fresenius Kidney Care Clinic whereas my happiness has waned while going to MercyHealth Dialysis. Yes, I miss some of the staff there, but only a few. I have left with a broken heart leaving the few I will surely miss, but it was time to move on to better things and plan for an upcoming kidney transplant once a kidney is found for me.
