MY FIRST DEAR DIARY JOURNAL: PLAIN & SIMPLE

My Day Today
Thu Jun 26 2025

Okay, bear with me for a moment, please. This is the hardest thing to talk about at the moment so amy words may not have a lot of sense at the moment I AM FRAZZLED. I have had it with MercyHealth jerking around me these days that this week the dialysis center staff has me in a time crunch to get me transferred to Fresenius Dialysis by Tuesday and found out today I need to be there by 12 pm July 1, 2025 to start dialysis there.

My Day Out and About

Remembering that Jackie comes in the morning by 9:30 AM on Thursdays because Deb has the day off, but today she didn’t get here until after 11 am because she had to take her Yoda kitty to the vet to get some tests and checked out. Yoda may have a cancer mass. Poor baby! Poor Jackie?! I feel for her with losing two fur babies in my lifetime in 2006 and 2020. A girl kitty named Emilee Marie Cuddles and a boy kitty named Bing Noel Crosby. My first two fur babies who both lived long and happy lives with me before old age and illness took them from me. So until Jackie got here, I watched Law & Order: CI and relaxed the best I could after Mercy Dialysis called me to find out what my plans were for next week Monday or Tuesday. I have been on the phone for 2 1/2 hours making important calls and sending text messages to the people I needed to communicate with and get appointments set up for the address of Fresenius Dialysis Center where I am transferring to starting July 1, 2025, and after fighting for 5 years to go from T, Th, and Saturday to M, W, and Friday, I am  back going back to T, Th, and Saturday for a while until we (Jackie, Deb, and Julie M, and I) get trained in home hemodialysis, we learned was offered at Fresenius Dialysis Center that is SSM Health and not under MercyHealth. Dr. Anjum and MercyHealth supports peritoneal dialysis, but not hemodialysis in the home. It was time for ms to leave Mercy Dialysis Center to go elsewhere where I can be happy again and find a new lease on life once more.

Jackie got here after 11 am. I ran to the bathroom as quickly as I could, got dressed for the day, and we were out the door with our neighbor and gal pal Marie to go have lunch at Luke’s Deli or Chinatown, or the Golden Corral. It took Jackie and I to decide because Marie was just with us and she would go everywhere with us as long as we are having some fun. We even thought of Mac’s Pizza Shack, but their all you can eat buffet was over at 1 pm and their food is more expensive after that. That is when Jackie came up with the Golden Corral to eat there for lunch. An all you can eat buffet sounded like a great idea even though Jackie had strong, negative feelings about the place a while back. We decided on Golden Corral and it was decent enough to have two small helpings of mac and cheese, a helping of meatloaf, a fried chicken leg, a helping of mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, broccoli, onions and peppers, and a piece of carrot cake. It was a good, filling lunch for me who loves to eat and is on a diet. Today was my cheat day of dieting. I even had a glass of Sprite soda to drink, but I prefer water or tea, or an Arnold Palmer drink that is ice tea and lemonade mixed. Yummy, lol… Anyway, with Marie along for the ride, we took the bus from Garden Court to the bus station building and waited for the Milwaukee Street bus and went to the Golden Corral for lunch and back on the Milwaukee Street bus to the bus depot and got back on the West Court bus back to Garden Court where home is home sweet home these days.

Back At Home

For the first time in a while, I did not hop into bed right away when I got home. Jackie thought it was cooler in the living room than my bedroom and thought it would be nice to sit in the living room for a while before getting into bed for the rest of the evening and I was all for it until 5 pm when my body and mind began to fall asleep and feel I was falling out of my power chair because my body had the feeling of falling to the far left. Because I was falling asleep in my reclined power chair, it was time to get into bed and stretch out a bit. I was getting tired and ready to read a bit while watching and listening to Law & Order: CI. I loved the Law & Order franchise for many years and have my favorite actors and actresses on those programs. Who are they?:

Vincent D’Onofrio—Bobby Goren, Kathryn Erbe—Emes, Christopher Noth—Mike Logan, Courtney B Vance—DA, and many others throughout the L& O franchise. Don’t ask me why I love shows like this because I don’t know why at this time in my life. I am a 54 year old woman who has grown up with a father who was a police officer in Janesville, Wisconsin for 30+ years of my life—in my lifetime. He’s been retired for many years now and is 83 years old now! Yep, my daddy is an old man now, lol. He has outlived his mom and dad, my Grandma Karnopp-Batchelor, who padded away at age 75 in 1985 in August on the 7th. Please don’t mind my memories at times because I am good with dates and times these days.

Anyway, Jackie has left for the day and returned for a few minutes to bring me my phone I had forgotten to bring in my bedroom for the night when I came to my bedroom around 5:00 pm for the rest of the evening to read and watch and listen to tv. I was surprised to hear Jackie arrive to make sure I had my phone for the night. I could have waited until morning, though. At least my phone is with me now for the night.

With the day now in the evening around 10:00 pm, I have taken my meds an hour ago and now getting ready to sleep for the night. It WAS a GOOD day all day long. Getting out to eat with Marie along with Jackie and I for having some fun with us, my day was fine and very good! What a wonderful day it was to go for a bus ride snd eat out with friend Marie and Jackie at the Golden Corral at 1:00 pm this afternoon.

The Weather Today!

I am not going to say my day was perfect because it wasn’t perfect today. Anyway, the weather still being very warm outside, our outing had a small hiccup and that was because of where were going was a new experience for my power chair and it hit a big rock and the rock was crushed into bits of dust like more   rocks in a pile, but the sound was so loud it could be heard a few feet away from it. Marie heard it behind me and Jackie in front of me. It was strange and it startled me, but we got to our destination without fail both ways to and from without getting run over by semi truck vehicles on the busier streets and roads. That was my worry both ways …
