Well, I missed treatment today at my normal time because I had a tumble right there getting back in my power chair and did not sit on my chair properly because the director Jaime had the right arm up and I went too far to the right and fell face down into the cement floor, not breaking anything on me, but I got a goose egg bump above my right eye. I spent the afternoon in the ER and ended up taking the city bus home on the 3:25 pm bus that goes by the hospital and riding it to the bus transit center and got on West Court bus to get dropped off at GardenCourt. Because I missed dialysis today, I will be going tomorrow at 12:30 pm to 3:15 pm and go again on Friday at 11:45 am to 2:30 pm.

- From:Batwing3dOn:Fri Dec 13 2024Good luck! My foster sister was on dialysis for quite some time. She has congenital kidney disease.
- From:Ksmiley/LittleKrissiOn:Wed Dec 18 2024After my transplant in 1988, I had my kidney for 31 years. Through the years, my kidney developed cysts, but not because of congenital kidney disease. Apparently, that is a common hereditary condition in families who have it. I feel for your sister being on dialysis for a long time. I have been doing dialysis for 6 years now since my transplanted kidney has lost its ability to function properly/correctly. 31 years is a milestone for living donor kidneys as they do not function well after 15 years in most cases. I gave my kidney an extra 16 years. My mom was 44 going on 45 that year and is now 80 years old. Her other kidney is still functioning for her very well. Being on dialysis for six years and finally I am going through the evaluation to be put on the kidney transplant list. I have my days where I feel things are going too fast and my caregiver Jackie wants me to have another transplant more than I do, but my feelings with MercyHealth has changed to the point that trust has been lost in their medical field, and it is a very sad situation now. It seems that bad.
- From:D'vorahDavidaOn:Fri Dec 13 2024Well, I'm glad to hear it wasn't too serious a fall. I hope you feel better. !!!
- From:Ksmiley/LittleKrissiOn:Wed Dec 18 2024I am. Nothing was broken and my glasses stayed intact as well. I did land hard enough on the floor, too! This fall scared me because medical staff at dialysis failed to keep me from falling. My dad isn’t very happy because it happened during a time I was at the clinic for treatment. Jackie believes this fall could have been avoided by the sound of what I heard and observed during the process of weighing in and out. We weigh in and out to decider our goal weight for the week to let the doctor know if it needs to be changed for the better or upped. In the past 2 1/2 years have been a challenge for me from 2 years ago before my legs stopped working due to a hematoma due to being turned real fast from left to right. Somehow the nurses tore a blood vessel and how I found out about this bad bruise was through my legs stopping to working properly and it felt like something was broken. Found out at that time as well that I had a blood infection. The degrees in my body changed inside me even though I did no4 show I had a temp due to illness. I guess chronic kidney disease can do that. I’ve had kidney disease twice in my lifetime—my own kidneys and my transplanted kidney. My transplanted kidney rejected for a short time in the first year and that was corrected with medicine and a stay in the hospital in 1988 five weeks after the transplant. My temp went up 6 degrees to 104 degrees during the sign of rejection and was then turned around back to normal with a med called OK123. Thst drug helped for 31 years!
