My ride picked me up at 10:45 am. When I arrived to the clinic by 10:50 am, and my favorite dialysis technician Tiffany called me back to weigh-in, and by 11 am today, I got hooked up. I will be done at 1:50 pm today! Wow! This doesn’t happen every week or Wednesday, but when it does, I am very happy! I am getting out of here an hour early today. WTG, Tiffany! YES! Today is a great dialysis day! Welcome to ‘hump day’ and a great day! Woohoo!
Treatment today had a rough start at the beginning because the arterial line had made the machine alarm three times in the first 10 minutes of treatment. I had to stop reading and have my library book put back in the bag of stuff on my power chair. 😖 What a bummer. I have to wait until I get home now.
On Monday, I learned that the medium BP cuff works better than the smaller one. My BP is staying above 100/50 with the larger cuff. Whew. Today is H & H blood test day, We get H & H tested twice a month. In the first Wednesday of the month with a blood work up of CBC and other labs, and H & H tested twice a month. The H & H determines if we need iron and medicine to bring up our white blood count due to anemia because we no longer have a kidney able to filter properly. It can be quite tiring at times, but being anemic isn’t our fault. Some days I get tired easily and want to sleep. Yesterday was a good sample at 1:30 pm when I got sleepy sitting in my power chair and wanted to go to.bed instead of downstairs to visit with my neighbors working on projects/crafts—diamond art. I am not a party-pooper, 😢🥺
