Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday this Thursday, the clinic will be closed that day. So, the social worker Kay G called MTM Medical Ride company to get the patient information to them to rearrange patient rides. Finding a medical ride for me on the 24th was difficult because my rides YBWF does not work on Sundays or open on holidays. It took MTM awhile to find a paratransit ride for me because of a loophole that was just found causing a problem with them finding another company. I have told MTM so many times now, for the couple of years that YBWF DOES NOT run on Sundays and holidays, but THEY DO NOTe listen to me, Kay the social worker, or my caregiver Jackie. We are all getting frustrated with the governmental medical ride companies screwing up or not listening, and believe me, it is annoying and frustrating that the agents and staff do not listen. Also, eventually the agents on the phone get frustrated with Jackie because she is loud and her tone changes when she must repeat herself. Her frustrated voice gets louder, and it sounds like she is yelling. I do not like that about her because I agree with others when she too loud is yelling. BUT THEY DO NOT LISTEN TO HER when she tries telling them she is on a speaker phone because I am listening to the conversation that is dealing with me, the patient who needs the ride. Oh boy, right? Very frustrating to have a company know your business in some way is crappy. I wish I could call any company personally to pick me up for a medical appointment because it is easier that way. When the government changed how we can get a medical ride seems to be to me the government to have control of our lives in some way. Sad and bad. What has the world gone to? It is very scary 😱 n my book. I have enough to worry about with my mental health issues.
Dialysis on today, a Tuesday, is my Monday. Tomorrow’s Wednesday is Tuesday’s Tuesday. Explaining how the climic works during the holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s is confusing and mind boggling, and frustrating, I am not the only patient and dialysis climic staff feeling the stress of all the business of rearranging rides with the medical ride company. Kay and Jacki take days and hours of their time to call MTM, our medical ride company that arranges rides from companies in the area and surrounding communities like Milwaukee and Beloit. You Buy We Fly (YBWF) is out of Beloit, Wisconsin. This is the company I use and like unless they are having troubles keeping up sometimes. There are reputable companies out there I do like, but not always they can give me a ride. Today, thankfully, YBWF was able to get me back and forth and with reasonable time. They are not open on holidays and Sundays, and that can be frustrating during the holidays. With my anxiety levels always fluctuating, the holiday season brings on more emotional stress for me. Holidays are not your normal everyday life activities as members and friends have parties and get together with foods and decorations to make the holidays special, I enjoy holiday season, but not all the hype of decorating your home and making a special holiday meal and treats. I need to find a place to hide and escape the humdrum of the holiday. Once the holiday is over, I can relax and live my life normal from day to day. It is my stress talking right now. Ok, I go through moments of negativity.
Dialysis did go smoothly. Saw Dr. A this afternoon while he did his rounds of the week with all his patients. My labs are doing well, and goal weight has been the same at 93 kilograms. I am trying to lose weight to be put on the kidney transplant list, but due to my lack of activity, it is not easy because I am always hungry and wanting to eat. 93 kilograms is about 205 pounds. My kidney transplant doctor at Froedert Hospital wants me to lose ten to fifteen pounds foe the transplant, too. Not too tall of a tale anyway.
Dialysis goes back to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on November 29, 2024, until the week of Christmas and New Year’s Day. We will have some normalcy for three weeks before our schedules are turned upside down for the week. It is very mind boggling. All because doctors and nurses, and the dialysis staff wants their patients to have three days of treatment to have the best treatment for the week. The hard fact is this, I will not have dialysis on Wednesday is Tuesday for the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I do not like flipping dialysis days anymore than the staff does because it is mind boggling dangling of the schedule to get around the days the clinics will be closed. Anyway, back to dialysis on Friday, November 29th.
