Dialysis Update: January 15th
Wed Jan 15 2025

Keeping up with my dialysis schedule Mondays. Wednesdays, and Fridays is not too hard, but when it comes to getting there, is the tricky part of it all. Since the government wants all medical rides to be through another company who vendors our rides like You Buy We Fly out of Beloit, Wisconsin and We Care out of Madison, Wisconsin. I have had Lavigne Bus Company as well through MTM or Veyo, and MTM and Veyo have their pros and cons, and issues that need to be ironed out, I have not had You Buy We Fly lately. I have been having We Care pick mr up for a while now. If I compare YBWF with We Care, We Care gets my vote in a good company to get rides to and from appointments. For my appointment in Middleton on the 7th of January, I did have YBWF that day foe both appointments that day. I like We Care, though. YBWF is NOT a bad medical ride company as I have my favorite driver’s and dispatch who owns the company are good, Christian people. As a matter of and truth, Demetrius has cousins, an uncle, and cousins driving his company vehicles and a couple of good friends. Sometimes, however, Demetrius’s attitude and tone of voice will land him in hot water in himself some days. With We Care, the company has people from Somalia running it. The culture the people came from is different there because we are the United States with many other cultures and traditions. I like We Care! This company thrives on helping people who need to have medical care.

With that said, medical rides are okay to a point. I am glad such a service exists. I just do not feel comfortable with some personal information being on a company’s system and can be taken by hackers and thieves. That is what I find scary about computers and electronics today. I have had debit cards hacked when my bank was vulnerable to hacking and thieving. I am careful using my debit card these days, now and today. Anyway, dialysis was not too bad today.

Today’s treatment landed in pod #5, chair 19 today. What a treat to sit the other direction…facing the front door of the clinic today. I sat where the sun, on this colder day, shone in the window as warmly as it could on a wintry day of cold, snow, and melting ice from the day before. If I say so, also, it is a big treat to sit in another chair outside your normal, assigned chair is fun, too. Also, unfortunately, we do not get the same technician, nurse, or attendant every treatment, either. Now, I think that technicians and nurses and attendants should be able to choose who they take care of though. I have my favorite people these days, and today, I learned that my favorite nurse Stephanie is coming back to work for the clinic again at the end of the month! Woohoo!! I am excited about this news.YAY!

Treatment today went by smoothly. My BP went below 110/60 practically right away so I had taken a pill to raise my BP a little bit. The pill worked and we had to stop the machine from pulling any fluid in the last ten minutes of treatment and before taking 2000 kilograms of fluid out of me. It was 1900 kilograms of fluid by the end of treatment. My weight has changed slightly since I am not very active and walking more.
