I have discovered that for some reason the server was failing to resolve the address for Moozemail. This was of course meaning that any and all emails from DearDiary.net could not be sent, since it didn't know where to send them.
What I'm not yet full sure of is why Moozemail could not be resolved by the DearDiary container. I shall be keeping my eye on things over the next few days to make sure it doesn't happen again and to find out why if it does. Sometimes gremlins do get in and this may be one of those occasions. If I start seeing a pattern I shall have to go hunting.

Am I supposed to be getting emails when diarists I follow post an entry? I have clicked the notify bell on each one or it shows it active, but I don't and haven't been, getting any emails. Am I missing something? (that happens a lot!)
Unless you’ve switched off email notifications, or clicked the unsubscribe button at some point in one of the emails then yes you should. if you’re not getting any updates I’ll investigate further for you
I DO most of the time get emails when someone comments on my diary or a diary I commented on. Just no email when someone updates their diary.
That suggests you've turned off email notifications for new entries. Have a look in the intray, under the Email Preferences to make sure you've not inadvertantly turned the setting off. If it isn't turned off, let me know and I'll have a look further.
It would be weird to be receiving other emails but not new entry notification if the setting isn't turned off, but, gremlins....
Where is the 'intray'? I have looked all over in my settings and don't see an option for email preferences. Boy do I feel foolish.
