I have today updated the search feature (which nobody seems to have noticed even exists to be fair) as the previous version it turned out was extremely slow and unreliable.

The new search uses a specialised search engine which runs as a totally separate backend and is designed with search in mind. This allows us to search the entire deardiary database in less than a second and return the results in order of relevance, or date order.

I have also adjusted the way the login system stores the session as I have a suspicion that some people's issues with logging in (mostly new users) may have been down to the way the session is stored. This will have logged everybody out though so unfortunately you'll need to login again.

The critical vulnerability patch I made last week turned out not to be necessary as we don't use server components, but the severity was such that I applied it anyway and then looked into whether we were vulnerable.

Some minor bug fixes have also been deployed with todays update, such as the font size should now display correctly in the editor on Firefox (thanks Mag0tLovr) for highlighting that one.

I'm working in the background on some exciting new features for DD which I hope to release early in the new year. Not giving much away yet as there's some work to be done still.
