A database query managed to pull the whole site over, resulting in the need to close down and restart the database. Unfortunately when it came back up it decided to overwrite its replication logs from the beginning and as such would have destroyed the backup database replication.

I've taken a snapshot of the database now and restarted and have made some adjustments so that in theory it will start up properly next time. We shall see....
