So it was brought to my attention that, as always (for those that remember far enough back) my choice of colours is always poor. To quote a famous donkey, "This would be a lot easier if I wasn't colour blind"! But anyway - the general consensus was that the colours were OK in light mode, but looked washed out and generally nasty in dark mode.
Even I had to agree.
So, you'll see some slight adjustments to the themes if you're using dark mode. They should pop a bit better but still be dark rather than light. The header bar has returned to a grey overlay to avoid contrast problems with the pencil, since the pencil changes colour to match your theme.
There's also an additional theme for Plus Users. Check it out if you like, or not if you're happy with your theme already 😀
Your user theme is now stored against your user-profile in the database. So choosing your user theme will now be set regardless of which browser you use. Dark/Light mode however remains a browser setting. This is because you might use a different browser during the day (a laptop for example) but an iPad or something at night to read other people's entries. So, dark mode follows the browser, colours follow you.
Unless the colours are overridden by the diary you're reading.
Which is also a change to the way themes work. Previously any diary that had not set a theme would be rendered in the site default Orange. That's changed and any diary that has not set their own theme will be shown to you in your User theme. Making, I hope, the User theme more useful. If you have no theme set and the diary has no theme set, then you get Orange 😀
Hope that makes sense.
EDIT: If you've already set a theme before this entry came out, it WILL NOT BE in your user profile. Just visit the Settings page again, change theme, change it back and then it will stick... Sorry about that.
