Today is the day I am re-opening DearDiary.Net to the general public. The 'betatest' login - by the time you read this - will be removed and anyone will be able to create a new account and create a new diary!
July 13th - hopefully not unlucky for us! (It shouldn't be, the 13th has always been a good day for me).
There's still a lot of work to be done. There's a LOT of features to be added. A number of bugs to be fixed. But in general, what's here is enough to get people started.
And for those people who previously had a diary - there's more than enough to let them read their original entries.
Previous Users of the WordPress System (or Patrons) Please Note
If you migrated your diary to the WordPress version of DearDiary, or went further and migrated to the Patron system, please contact me using the Contact menu option in the pencil above if you want your entries ported back into this version. This, for reasons technical, WILL NOT happen automatically.
PATRONS ESPECIALLY - If you begin using the system here, please Contact Me so I can add your 'Plus' subscription to your account. Current paying Patrons do not have to pay twice! If you no longer wish to use the Patron Site, I can port your entries back here and close your site down. Then you will need to subscribe through the 'Go Plus' menu option and cancel your Patreon subscription. If this confuses you, message me! There is however no obligation to move back here and if you want to continue with the Patron site you can. Though the feedback I've had so far has suggested no-one wants to stay on the Patron system!
Let me also add that without the Patrons, this resurrection would never have happened. Your faith in this site and what it stood (and now stands again) for is what kept it alive for the past 5 years. Please take a moment to reflect on that, and how much is owed by so many to so few!
