Apologies to Kayel - for some reason I thought I had deployed the YouTube embedding fixes that were brought to my attention a couple of weeks ago! Turns out, I hadn't.

They are however, now deployed. I've made some additional enhancements to the whole embedding system.

Notably that simply pasting in a YouTube (or Twitter or BlueSky) link will now offer you the option of pasting simply as text, pasting as a link, or embedding the media into your post (like the one below).

I've also fixed an issue whereby the embeds were not taking up the full width if the content in your post wasn't wide enough.

There are some additional patches to prevent DearDiary.Net from being embedded into 3rd party sites (ironically perhaps given the ability to embed YouTube into our site) but this is to prevent the possibility of DearDiary users being 'clickjacked'.

Pasting a link to any website will also offer the opportunity of automatically creating a clickable link within your entry, or simply pasting as text.
