Firstly I'd like to welcome the large number of new users to the site - especially those that have become Plus members recently, but also the many many more who are writing away behind the scenes. You're all very welcome and if there's anything the system does that you don't like, or don't understand or can't work out - please do reach out and ask for help. We are here to help 😀

I'm aware of a few little quirks on the current system, especially in its use on mobile devices. Notably, it's nasty on mobile devices, especially (but not limited to) when you're trying to add or edit an entry. There's a lot of the system that isn't as intuitive as it might be.

So I'm pleased to announce that in the next few days - possibly a week or two - I will be releasing a HUGE update to the site, with improvements for mobile and desktop users. It is a huge overhaul of the interface whilst trying hard to respect the way it already is. That won't make much sense until the release comes out I'm sure.

The focus with this new release is on useability. Making it more obvious how and where everything is. The interface is, in our opinion at least, cleaner and easier to use but respects its roots - which are still founded in the original DearDiary from way back when.

I will let you know closer to the date when it will happen as there will need to be a few minutes down time to make some schema changes to the database. I'll also then talk through (or create a video) the main changes.
