One day at a time

Almost 11 years
Mon Aug 12 2024

It has been almost 11 years since I quit smoking I really enjoyed my cigarettes I easily smoked 2 packs a day sometimes more I believe it was November 3rd 2013 when my daughter, Crista and I decided to quit I remember what a struggle it was I used the patch it helped a lot but once I finished with the patch program that is when I went into withdrawl but I got through it and I am thankful every day that I did I can’t believe how much money I would have spent on them and this amount was 10 years ago price when I quit they were $5.00 per pack now I see that has doubled they are now $10.00 per pack, that is crazy money for something that can kill you I still have the urge even after this long but I will never smoke again, in fact I still have a pack in my freezer I figured since that was the last pack in the carton I would keep it for I don’t know why I kept it maybe just for emergency but it is still there after all this time never touched it.

I have a doctors appointment today at 2:00 just a yearly check up i sure wish I could get a wegovy prescription to help with my weight loss but Medicare don’t cover the cost and without it $1300.00 per month I certainly can’t afford that.

This evening they are having a hot air balloon demo at the local fire department they will be explaining how it works and showing how they inflate and deflate them sounds like a lot of fun I am sure I will have pictures.

Well done!!! so impressive and I know how hard it was to get that far. But now, I'm sure, it is only one way ahead. Taking care of yourself is becoming more and more important as time takes its toll...

My grandparents (maternal) smocked for years and quit while I 17 years. It was a treat to have them not smoking for the last twenty and 30 years of their lives become non smokers. Even my dad’s wife quit smoking. As for you and your health, I am happy to hear about your endeavors of quitting the habit of smoking. What a large milestone for you. Making a milestone like this is pretty cool to be very honest with you, right?😁🙏 Also, it is a great joy reading your blog/journal again, Tim. Have a good rest of the week. From, Kristi/Ksmiley.
