So, last week I opened the passenger door on Moosey Wagan and thought I would check whether the leaking windscreen fix had also fixed the water in the step.
It hadn't. It was a swimming pool in there.
There was no water under the carpet (well, there was, but that was residue from the windscreen and was a patch of dampness with no entry or exit point when I was feeling it to trace it out).
So the only other option is the door seal. The metalwork onto which the door rubber fits is quite rotten and needs replacing. So I set about replacing it. Here's some photos.

It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination - but the whole wheel arch and front sill really ought to be replaced. That's a project for next year when we start repairing and renovating the body and paintwork. For now I need it to not get any worse and to pass this years MOT.
The black spot is where I found some additional rot - indicating the aforementioned replacement need 😀
That's the first real welding I've done since I converted the gasless MIG over to use gas instead. I'm reasonably pleased with it as I'm only a self taught (thanks YouTube!) welder.
It'll do for now. Hopefully it doesn't go rotten too quickly! I'll post an update about a fairly significant interior change tomorrow!
