Sun Jul 13 2025 - Spur of the Moment
Spur of the Moment

As mentioned in the previous episode, this site was a bit of a spur of the moment decision a week or so ago. But we're glad we made it, and in many ways wish we'd come here for 3 nights and 2 for the other. The other was nice enough, but there's way more to do and see here.

The new pitch - with awning up

The awning is on a weird lean because the C-Channel rail is too low for the attachment tunnel. It's a drive away awning so the tunnel that connects the awning to the van is quite large to make it easier to attach and detach if you want to use the van while you're away. We generally don't - but we might once we make some changes to the height of the C-Channel.

Anyway - what a site. We will return to this one next year for sure.

This lake is within easy walking distance

Stunning views, and off road (mostly) walks into the village - so no need to worry about cars, or moving the van if we need supplies. Perfect.

Sadly, the weather was due to turn very wet on our last morning so we decided to leave the night before. It wasn't wasted though cos we enjoyed the day and a spur of the moment decision to go home early meant we got home at about 23:30.

Which was Moosey's first trip in the dark. The headlights aren't as good as my car, but the car is 18 years newer, so technology has moved on a bit 😁
