Growing in Leaps and Bounds
Thu Oct 31 2024

I am not surprised at how Millie has grown in the past 10 months … I love her so much for improving in her growing up from 5 months to being 1 year old! Why should I be surprised. She has learned what love and patience is all about. She has grown leaps and bounds in the past 10 months now that the once very skittish kitty is less skittish today. She grown a liking to my caregiver Deb now that she will allow Deb and I to pet her. She can also tell Deb exactly what she wants her to do or give her! When Deb comes to work, Millie will greet her at the door meowing her welcome and demands the minute she hears the key in the door to unlock while she is getting in. Magic, who is now 4 years old will take his time sometimes to saunter out in the hall to greet Deb to pick him up, otherwise he just lays where he is at and yawn and wait for her to approach. Yes, my Magic has an air about him that proves to be haunt at times for a boy cat. He makes me roll my eyes with such behavior,

When the cats are playing, sometimes I see them having a boxing match and Millie Girl can hold her own in a spat as she hisses her disapproval of Magic’s persistence of the fight. These spats they get into at times make their mommy, me, ill at ease until it is over. I do my best at telling them to stand down or go their separate ways. My disability does not allow me to get up to separate the two to talk to each one separately right now. Yet, my babies get along well and began a month or two after Millie became a member of the family at 6 to 7 months, I cannot believe how much she has improved ever since adoption because no matter how long it takes Millie to become non-skittish, she was never going back to the shelter or go anywhere else. She will remain to be daughter kitty and sister for Magic Man of a kitty at age 4. I may not always get close to her, but she is my baby girl. My fur babies are my children, and I do not regret having children of my own today at 54. I love children, but if they are sick and rowdy, they can be children of other families. If a child is ill, I will be ill alongside them, lol. I have done some babysitting in my younger days and enjoyed it, but I prefer a child to go back to their parents. Now, if I ever had to take a child because the parent has passed away or somehow can no longer take care of the child, I will step up to the plate to take care of the child until she was of age to live on her own. I think, with how the world has become lately, I will not be a very good parent to human children. Yet, I love my fur babies, Magic, and Millie.

Another thing about both of my babies when it comes to strangers, they both hide for a while before Magic makes his presence known, and Millie Girl comes out and watch in the safety of where she feels safe yet is being semi-social—if that even exists. It does in this family!
