Tonight I, Magic's and Millie's human mommy, watched two cats at odds about something that must have begun in the living room. They ran into the bedroom and jumped on the cat tree. Of both cats, their ears were back, their mouths were open as they were breathing heavily, and their faces looked angry and fierce. You know the phrase 'it's looks could kill'? That is what I saw during this duel this evening. I watched them box one another as if they were in a boxing match over a toy or they got into each other's space too closely. It was an amazing fight as I lay on my bed helpless in getting up and out to rescue one of my kitties. Telling them to settle down, be kind to one another, and be careful seemed to be unheard by the cats. I was at a loss temporarily because I'm unable to get up and be the superhero of the day to rescue one or the other. My kitty cats will have to duke it out, go their separate ways for a while, and be friends again. Cats will have squabbles from time to time like human siblings. Magic and Millie are siblings by adoption only and they get along most of the time. They sleep on the cat trees together at times but in separate places. My babies like to sleep in the hammock.
