Millie is my baby girl. Jackie and Deb, my caregivers, went to the humane society to look at the girl kittens under 6 months. They met Millie, the kitten who won a place in Jackie’s heart and was adopted and brought to her new home to become a sister to my boy Magic. I learned that she was deemed a feral kitten and had her left ear clipped to show that she had been deemed feral. Also, was told she was very skittish. Oh, my goodness, what did I get into? Well, it has been months now and she is a 1-year-old cat now!
Things took a turn for the better today. Millie was talking to Deb and telling her what she wanted. Deb took the time to listen and watch what Millie wanted. The next thing we see is her submitting to Deb by lying on her back to show he belly and meow. Deb went down slowly and was able to per her head for a few minutes. Hmmm? A milestone for Millie and I am happy for her.
I believe Deb is able to get to now pet Millie and Millie has been able to go to Deb is because she is gentle, slow around her, Millie, and has a soft voice with patience, and Deb cooks my and her breakfast eggs every morning. My voice and Jackie’s voice can be louder than Deb’s, so it is taking longer for Millie to get used to us.
Yes, Millie is my daughter, not Jackie’s kitty. Yes, Millie takes to Deb now, but that is okay. I am the cats’ human mommy. Jackie and Deb are their aunts.
