Comments

Readers can leave comments on your entries if you've enabled comments for your diary. Comments are a great way to interact with your readers and they with you.

Enabling / disabling comments

Toggle Allow Comments in Diary Settings → Appearance on or off. This applies diary-wide.

Posting a comment

On a public entry, scroll to the bottom and type in the comment box. Threaded replies are supported — click Reply under any comment to reply to it specifically.

Comment notifications

You'll receive an in-app and (optionally) email notification when:

• Someone posts a comment on your entry.
• Someone replies to one of your comments.

Manage email preferences for comments in Account Settings → Notification Preferences.

A DearDiary.Net Account is required to post comments

Whilst we do believe in freedom of expression at DearDiary.Net, there are some limits and unfortunately we have found in the past that anonymity leads to some cruel and disturbing comments being left on other's diaries. For this reason a valid login is required to leave comments.

You can create an account purely for the purpose of leaving comments on others diaries. There is no requirement to have your own diary in order to interact with our community. But you must follow the Terms And Conditions
