I managed to get all my homework items done, now it’s time to start in on the different sheets I need to turn in, and getting my notes put together for the test. My teacher is allowing me to come in on Thursday at 11:20 to test. It is such a relief to know that I won’t be testing and worrying about the kids at the same time!
To take some bad luck and look at it from the bright side, my washing machine broke AGAIN. The good part about this is I won’t have that task to distract me from studying here at home. The bad part is that I didn’t get nearly enough laundry done over the weekend and I’m WAY behind. I will definitely be calling the service center tomorrow to have them come out and take care of it. I’m really glad now that I chose to extend the warranty on it a few months ago. Had I not, the warranty expired yesterday, and I would be looking at a bill I’d rather not pay right now.
I’ve been looking at possibilities for next term at school. If I pass this class, I’m thinking of going to full time status next term. If I do choose this, it will mean more homework, but at a slower pace. Where I’m at right now we have 5 terms per year. On the campus they only have 4 per year. The terms are longer, so hopefully that will help with the homework load. Also with all the classes being at the campus, that will get me out of the house, so I can stay there before, between and after classes to work on homework with no interruptions. The particular classes I’m looking at should be an interesting combination of time requirements. The math I see having quite a bit of homework, the CIS class not really having much, if any. For the third class I’m looking at one of two English classes. They are both writing classes, one it sounds like all the writing is based on material given in class, the second is hard to tell due to the way the description is worded. While it is listed as a writing class, the description makes it sound like it is only studying different aspects of writing certain types of material.
The biggest reason I’m looking at doing this is money. As a part time student, I’m not eligible for anything outside of my GI Bill. While that is good, it would be nice to apply for and (hopefully) get more financial aid to help pay for everything.
Just think, about the time I’m done with my schooling, I should be starting to look for different scholarships and grants for the twins. Yippie.
I’m thinking I definitely need to talk with them about going into the Air Force! For anyone not aware of it, people on active duty get their tuition paid for 100%. Give Uncle Sam 4 years and come out either with a degree, or very close to one with additional GI Bill money to continue on.
I should have done it this way when I first entered. Getting married shortly afterwards distracted me from all my educational goals though.
